Andrew Orr holds dual qualifications in Eastern and Western Medicine, adopting a multi-modality approach when treating his patients. Andrew Orr has specialised medical degrees through the faculty of medicine at UNSW, with a Masters of Reproductive Medicine (Medical) and a Masters of Women’s Health Medicine (Medical).
Andrew has also studied extensively in China and is a practitioner of Traditional Chinese Medicine with extensive experience as an Acupuncturist and Herbalist. Andrew Orr is also a Naturopath, Nutritionist, a Qualified Chef and more.
He is sought out by couples Australia wide and internationally due to his reputation as one of Australia’s most successful integrative medicine fertility & women’s health specialists.
In addition to practising full time at Shen Therapies, Andrew regularly lectures to other Health Care Professionals, is a public speaker, and reviews for the Australian Medical Journal on complementary medicine.
He belongs to a worldwide fertility network and is one of Australia’s leading pregnancy, fertility and women’s health specialists.
Andrew is also the director of his own Nutritional Medicine Company, ConceptShen Nutritional Supplements.
Andrew has formulated his own range of herbal medicine formulas and nutritional supplements to assist fertility and gynaecological conditions and these play a big part in his successful fertility program. They are a specialised range of fertility and gynaeology formulations that are practitioner only products and cannot be found anywhere else.
When not working, Andrew enjoys cooking (he is a fully qualified chef), staying fit and playing music.
Anthea brings to Shen Therapies a Bachelor Degree in Health Science majoring in Acupuncture (BHScAcu).
She thoroughly embraces the whole concept of Chinese Medicine and the opportunity it brings to undertake further, life-long study in this area (having also been given the award for Academic Excellence following her tertiary studies).
Anthea holds a firm belief in the power of the human body to heal itself in association with the gentle rebalancing acupuncture can offer.
Her hobbies include veggie gardening, playing the piano and the cello (not at the same time) and the daoist-based exercise therapy of tai chi.
Anthea also loves spending time and taking long walks with her energetic puppy.
Ryan Llewellyn is a qualified acupuncturist completing his Bachelor of Health Science degree at Endeavour College of natural health on the Gold Coast (BHScAcu).
Ryan is a passionate and dedicated practitioner who regularly travels to Japan to study with a Japanese master acupuncturist. He has undertaken regular training under experienced practitioners to bring a gentle, yet powerful treatment style.
Ryan believes that it is important to cultivate balance in life and is a regular yoga practitioner and avid surfer. His love for surfing and travelling saw him spend 8 years travelling the globe where he learned to speak Spanish. This adventure also gave him a much greater appreciation of this beautiful country that we live in.
Sarah has come to us from a back ground in Hospitality. Sarah was looking for a new challenge in a new industry that she could can grow and develop with and she has certainly found that with her role at Shen Therapies. Sarah has a strong passion for customer service and would love to help you where ever she can. We are really excited to have Sarah as part of our team and to help as the PA to Dr Andrew Orr and also help with the overall supervision of the clinic and to be able to help assist you all with any help you need.
